Thin decals with a wood pattern for propeller blades in 1:32 scale. This is not a 3D-printed set for a cockpit and not a plastic part: it is printing which is applied onto the finished propeller of a model and replaces the demanding painting of wood structure. That is hard to imitate with a brush or an airbrush, because a real propeller of the period was laminated from several layers of differently dark wood and the pattern on the blade converges into a characteristic figure.
The name in the title refers to a German propeller maker of the period of the First World War. Wooden propellers were then pressed and glued up from layers, each workshop had its own combination of woods and its own blade shape, and that is exactly why the wood pattern is dealt with in such detail on models of aircraft of that time.
First spray the propeller in a light base color and coat it with gloss clear coat: a decal needs a smooth surface, or it will go dull and bubbles will appear under it. Then soak the piece briefly, slide it onto the blade and shape it carefully over the curvature. A softener will help the decal seat into the twist of the blade. Once it has dried, coat it over with matte or semi-matte varnish and adjust the shade if you like with a faint glaze tint.
