A photo-etched metal set in 1:32 scale for a model of the Soviet Yak-9K fighter. An accessory for the kit wherever the plastic part is too thick for the scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yak-9 was a Soviet single-seat fighter of the Second World War, a low-wing monoplane with an enclosed cockpit and retractable landing gear, built in a whole range of versions. The letter K in the designation belongs to the version armed with a large-caliber 45 mm cannon mounted so that it fired through the propeller hub. Only a small number were built, and among the other Yaks you can tell it apart by the strikingly long barrel projecting from the nose.
Thin metal parts etched from sheet. They are used wherever an element should be as thin in scale as real sheet metal: instrument panels, cockpit controls, seat belts, buckles, grilles, doors and other details that are necessarily coarser in injection-molded plastic. The scope of the sheet and what the individual parts are for is given in the enclosed instructions.
Separate the parts from the sheet with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than by breaking them out, otherwise the edge bends. Make the folds along a sharp edge or in a bending tool so that they come out crisp. Degrease the metal before gluing and give it a coat of primer, as paint will not hold on a smooth surface. Bonding is done with super glue in small amounts, of which there is always less needed than it seems.
The set is an accessory for a kit. Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
