A Big Ed combined set of detail accessories from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for plastic models of the Soviet Yak-9K fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit, but a bundle of photo-etched parts, steel seat belts and painting masks which brings together several separately sold sets in one package and markedly raises the level of detail of the base model.
The bundle typically includes photo-etched parts for the interior as well as the exterior, a separate set for the landing flaps, steel seat belts and painting masks for the canopy and the wheels. The color-printed photo-etch brings a realistic instrument panel and cockpit detail, and the masks make it easier to spray the glazing cleanly.
Bend the photo-etched parts on a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue, and use a two-part adhesive with a longer setting time for the small elements if need be. Do not overspray the color photo-etch, only pick it out. Put the masks on the glazing before you spray the frames and take them off carefully once dry. Always check compatibility with your own Yak-9K model.
This is a set of accessories, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
