1:32 Yak-9K landing flaps is a photo-etched set of landing flaps from the Czech company Eduard for a model of the Yakovlev Yak-9K in 1:32 scale. It is an accessory for the basic model, not a kit.

A specialized photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, devoted exclusively to the landing flaps of a model of the Yakovlev Yak-9K in 1:32 scale. It replaces the plastic flaps from the kit with a thin metal part with the rib and covering structure drawn out, which injection-molded plastic cannot make in a corresponding thickness. At the same time it makes it possible to show the flaps lowered and to expose the space in the wing, which is the usual state on a parked aircraft and adds markedly to the impression on a model. It is not a kit of an aircraft nor a general interior set — Eduard has separate sets for the interior, while this one deals with a single but very rewarding assembly.
The Yak-9 is a Soviet single-engined fighter of mixed construction, and the K version carried a large-caliber cannon mounted on the axis of the propeller with the barrel projecting from the spinner. The landing flaps on aircraft of this generation are simple and at rest they as a rule sink into the lowered position. In 1:32 scale the exposed space in the wing is clearly visible, and the deep area behind a flap is among the details most often overlooked on models.
The set is among the more demanding ones: the flaps are made up of several layers of sheet, which have to be fitted together accurately. Cut the parts off with a sharp knife against a hard surface and deburr all the cuts, otherwise the layers will not sit down together. Make the bends over a metal edge or in a bending tool, and on long edges bend gradually along the whole length at once, not from one end — otherwise the sheet will take on a wave. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue in very small drops; where time is needed to set things in place, a slower-setting variant suits well. Before painting, degrease the sheet and spray a primer for metal on, so that the paint does not chip off during handling.
The set is an accessory, not a kit of an aircraft. The basic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
