1:32 Yakovlev Yak-9T landing flaps

Yak-9T — photo-etched landing flaps (1:32, Eduard)

This is not a model of an aircraft but a specialized photo-etched set. The set contains fine etched metal parts that replace the plastic landing flaps of the Soviet fighter Yakovlev Yak-9T in the larger 1:32 scale. Etched metal makes it possible to show the flaps as thin and cut through, the way they look in reality, and to open them into the lowered position. The set is shaped for the Yak-9T kit from ICM.

What the set contains and how it is used

• Fine etched parts of the flaps with the internal structure of the ribs suggested, which a plastic casting cannot manage.
• It makes it possible to show the flaps in the lowered (landing) position for a more dynamic look to the model.
• Cut the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and form the bends on a bender or along a ruler.
• Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); ordinary cement for plastic will not hold on metal.
• The set is intended for the particular Yak-9T kit from ICM — count on cutting away the plastic flaps it replaces.

For modelers who are building the Yak-9T in 1:32 scale from ICM and want faithful, thin flaps in the lowered position. Work with fine photo-etch calls for experience, a sharp tool and cyanoacrylate glue.

The set is supplied as etched metal parts; the basic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
