1:32 Yellow jersey

A figure in 1:32 scale

The figure carries the name Yellow jersey and belongs among figures in 1:32 scale. This scale is a rewarding one for figures: the piece is large enough for the folds of the clothing and the features of the face to show, and it still fits in a display case next to models of the same scale. What exactly the figure represents does not follow from the name and is not stated here.

Where it fits

A human figure gives both a model and a whole scene its sense of scale, because only a person shows the true size of a machine or a building. You can stand the figure on its own base, work it into a diorama, or use it to liven up a display case in which the models alone look static. Before gluing, try it dry in several places and pick the position in which it stands upright and hides nothing important.

Painting and care

• Wash the figure in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, degrease it and let it dry.
• Apply a thin coat of primer; it reveals the surface and further shades hold on it better.
• Apply the paint in several thin coats, because a heavy coat floods the fine folds.
• Put a dark wash into the folds and lighten the raised areas with a dry brush.
• Leave the face for last and work from the darker shade toward the lighter one.
• Seal the finished figure with matte varnish and dust it in the display case with a soft brush.

Who it is for

For modelers and collectors who build in 1:32 scale and are looking for a human figure for a scene. In this scale the figure is large enough to be painted even without long practice with figures.

Paints, glue and thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
