Model Scene Weeds, type II. are individual plants from a cut sheet for weeding terrain in a diorama in 1:32 to 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A scenery material from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene, a specialist in diorama vegetation. It is not a loose scatter and not finished growth, but individual plants that are taken out of a colored cut sheet, shaped and planted into the terrain piece by piece. The type II. designation distinguishes the second version of the plant shape in the range of weeds, so several types can be combined in one scene and the growth then does not look like a repeated template.
Weeds are the most important vegetation on a diorama after grass, because they tell the story of how a place is treated. They grow where nothing is mown or cleared: along walls and fences, in the joints of paving, in broken asphalt, around parked vehicles, on fill and waste ground. A few plants by the wheel of an abandoned vehicle or in the rut of a muddy track therefore say more about a scene than a whole area of evenly sprinkled grass. These are plants with no tie to one particular botanical species, that is universal ruderal vegetation usable across periods and regions.
Take the plants out with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and open them out with tweezers so that they do not stay flat. Plant them into a small hole with a drop of cyanoacrylate or PVA glue. Always irregularly: denser along vertical edges, at the feet of walls, posts and wheels, thinner in open areas, and not at all where people walk and vehicles drive. Tune the shade with a dry brush, as the lower leaves tend to be dusty and yellowed and the upper parts richer.
The material is supplied unpainted, for further work. The glue, the paints and the supporting structure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
