A 3D-printed kit capturing the early form of the American MJ-1A lift truck for loading munitions, in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MJ-1A is a low wheeled truck with which US Air Force ground crews lift bombs and rockets onto the pylons of aircraft. Among mechanics it earned the nickname Jammer. At the front it has a hydraulically operated platform with a fork on which the load is settled, and the operator sits at the rear; the whole structure is deliberately low so that it fits under a wing. This set captures the early form of the truck, and the later version is offered separately.
This is a 3D-printed kit in 1:32 scale. The printed parts carry fine details that would be hard to produce in injection-molded plastic, but they are more brittle, so handle them calmly and without force. The extent of the package and the building sequence are given in the instructions supplied with the kit.
Printed parts are held on the model by print supports; cut them off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off carefully, so as not to cut into the surface. The material is not polystyrene, so modeling cement for plastic does not hold; use super glue. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer, on which only then will the shade hold. Fine traces of the print layers on large areas will disappear after a light sanding. The truck also suits standing beside a model aircraft as an accessory, where it becomes clear just how low it really is.
The set will please modelers who build airfields and ground crew scenes. Paints and glue are not included in the box, unless stated otherwise. The extent of the package and the recommended order of the steps are worth reading in the manufacturer's instructions before you separate the first part.
