SX-Art 1:48 Paint mask FW 1000 is a set of painting masks for a model of the German Focke-Wulf 1000 fast bomber project in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SX-Art set serves for painting a model that is already built. The masks are laid on the areas that are to stay in a different shade or without a coat, and are lifted off after spraying. The modeler thus gains edges that tape outlined by hand does not usually achieve, and without the tedious cutting of small shapes.
Under this designation one of the German aircraft proposals from the end of the Second World War is listed. The number in the name refers to three required parameters, that is to carry a ton of bombs over a distance of a thousand kilometers at a speed of a thousand kilometers per hour. The machine remained at the project stage and never got into the air, so models of this type fall into the popular category of unbuilt designs. It is exactly with these that masking carries great weight, because the finish is in no way tied to period photographs and everything rests on the cleanness of the execution.
Rid the base of dust and grease before laying the masks on. It is a good idea to spray over the edge of the mask first with a thin coat of the base color, which seals any leak, and only then to apply the new shade. Spray perpendicular to the surface, not at an angle under the edge. Lift the mask off slowly and in your own direction, so that the fresh finish does not tear.
