Eight milk cans of 40 liters in 1:43 scale from SX-Art. A convincing load for a flatbed and a prop for a loading ramp.

Eight large sheet-metal cans for 1:43 scale. They serve as a load and as a prop in a scene; this is not a kit.
A can of forty liters is one of the few objects that set the period and the place by themselves. Stood on a loading ramp, loaded on a flatbed or scattered by the entrance to a yard, they create a rural or supply context at once. Eight pieces are a number you can work with as a load: some stand lined up, some are being carried and one may lie tipped over.
Galvanized sheet metal or aluminum gains in fidelity when you lay a darker base under the metal paint and draw the metal over it only from above. Add light vertical trails of running water and dust the lower third. If you want to tell farm and commercial use apart, paint a few pieces in color over the metal and leave the paint rubbed through to bare metal in places. It is exactly this difference that turns a set into a group with a history. It is also worth considering where you will put the vessels: lined up in two rows they look like a consignment ready to go, whereas a loose group by a wall looks like goods nobody has come for yet. Both are convincing; each simply tells a different story.
