Dynamo-Models puts this figure into its animal range, which the brand labels Animals Serie. It is a scenic element for scenes after a battle or after the front has passed through a village, where losses among farm animals belonged to the ordinary part of the picture. It has nothing in common with a model of a vehicle beyond the scale.
A diorama in which only hardware is to be seen tells only half the story. A fallen head of cattle by the road or in front of a damaged farmstead moves the scene from a parade of machines toward the record of an event, and does so without any need to show human casualties. It also works as a counterweight in the composition, because a low horizontal mass balances upright objects such as a wreck or a wall.
The coat in this case is not meant to be clean: it pays to tone the base shade down, to add mud where the body touches the ground and to darken it slightly around the belly. Cover the transition between the figure and the base with grass, dust or churned-up soil, so that the animal lies in the terrain rather than standing on it. Use gloss sparingly and only in spots. Small traces of traffic will also tell around the body, track prints or ruts worn into the soil for instance, which give the scene a direction of movement.
