A set of cast antenna bases of the kind British military vehicles carried, in the large 1:16 scale. It is an accessory for fitting out a built model, not a kit of the vehicle nor the antenna itself in its full length.
The antenna base is a small but pronounced element on the roof of the turret and on the rear of the hull. It carries the flexible mounting of the rod antenna and tends to be complex in shape, which is exactly why it is cast in plastic in a simplified form, and in sixteenth scale that already shows at first glance. A resin casting makes it possible to draw out both the insulator and the flange with its bolts the way a large scale demands.
Seat the base according to a period photograph of the particular vehicle, because the position differs with the type of radio set and with the period. You can make the antenna itself up from stretched filament or a bristle; it looks best when it tapers toward the tip. Wash the resin and degrease it before painting, otherwise the primer coat will not hold. The insulator at the foot of the antenna tends to be lighter than the surrounding sheet metal, and once you set it apart, the small part reads immediately in a large scale.
The goods are meant for finishing a model you already have built. The antenna rod and electronics are not included in the package.
