A turned 120 mm barrel for the South Korean K2 tank, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A machined barrel intended to replace the plastic part on a model of the South Korean tank. The length of the barrel is expressed as a ratio to the caliber, which is the usual way of marking contemporary guns and hints at how long the barrel is in reality.
The K2 is a main battle tank developed in South Korea as the successor to older types. It belongs among the most modern equipment of its kind and its large-caliber smoothbore barrel matches what comparable machines carry elsewhere in the world today. For a modeler it is interesting in that it differs from European and American tanks in silhouette and is unmissable in a display case.
Builders of contemporary armored equipment who want the most conspicuous part of a model in perfect shape. On a long barrel every bend shows at first glance, so a metal replacement pays off.
Contemporary tank guns have no rifling in the bore, so the barrel looks like an entirely smooth tube. All the more does every irregularity tell on it, and all the more important is it that the muzzle be perfectly circular. A metal part deals with that without sanding and filling.
The barrel alone is sold, and the kit of the tank is not included.
