A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks in 1:35 scale for the tracked airborne self-propelled gun 2S25 Sprut-SD. It is not a kit, but a masking accessory. The masks are laid on a part-built model and hold the boundary of the spray where masking tape would be hard to shape, on the circular tire bands of the road wheels and around the glazed vision ports.
The 2S25 Sprut-SD is a light tracked vehicle of the Russian airborne forces with a gun of 125 mm caliber. The chassis comes from the family of airborne fighting vehicles, is amphibious and adapted for a parachute drop, so the vehicle is very light for its caliber. Characteristic features are the low silhouette, the long barrel overhanging the outline of the hull and the adjustable suspension. The road wheels have rubber tire bands, which are separated from the disc when painting.
Spray the running gear before you cover it with the tracks and the fenders. Let the base coat cure thoroughly, press the mask down all around and spray several very thin coats. With modern Russian vehicles it works well to build the green shade in two tones, a darker base with lightening from above, and then to pick out the edges gently with a dry brush. Peel the mask off slowly at a sharp angle, while the paint is still fresh.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
