A resin detail part in 1:35 scale representing the heavy add-on armor on the underside of the hull of the Israeli heavy armored personnel carrier Nagmachon. It is not a vehicle kit - it is an accessory fitted to a basic model. The manufacturer lists the same element in several versions according to the thickness of the armor and according to the kit the part is shaped for, so before buying it is worth checking which version belongs to your model.
The Nagmachon is an Israeli heavy armored personnel carrier based on the chassis of the Centurion tank, adapted for use in built-up and broken terrain. Its protection against a blast under the vehicle grew stronger over time, so vehicles appeared with armor of various thicknesses. The heavier version changes the lower outline of the hull more markedly than a thinner one and it is clearly apparent on a model as soon as the vehicle is not standing on a flat display surface.
The underside of a vehicle is where all the dirt collects - and that is exactly the opportunity this part offers. Once it is glued on and painted in the base color, apply mud and dust effects in several thin layers, working from the edges inward, and let them dry between layers; one heavy layer looks like a smear of putty. On the edges that scrape the ground, draw out worn metal with a dry brush. Apply pigments last and do not over-seal them, otherwise the velvety look of dust disappears. Before any of that, though, do not neglect the basics: wash the mold release agent off the casting, cut the casting block off with a saw, level the mating surface and glue with cyanoacrylate glue over the whole area. Do the dry fit before you fit the running gear.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package.
The part is shaped for the Nagmachon kit from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The manufacturer also makes the same armor in a version for a kit from another maker, because the floor of the hull has a different shape on each of them.
