The Art Scale single-sided masking set for the cockpit of the Japanese A6M2 Zero fighter in 1:35 scale covers the glazing from the outer side and gives the frames a precise edge with no cutting by hand.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cut self-adhesive pieces that are laid onto the outer surface of the glazing. The inner side stays free, so the frames keep the interior color inside and the spraying from the outside has a straight, precise edge. The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not replace; it is made by the Czech brand Art Scale.
The Mitsubishi A6M2 Type 0 Model 21 was a carrier fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Nakajima Sakae 12 radial, an exceptionally light structure and a drop tank gave it a range that nothing could match in 1941. The price was weak protection for the pilot and unprotected tanks. Zeros took off for the attack on Pearl Harbor, fought over the Philippines and in the Battle of the Coral Sea, and in the first year of the war they counted as the most agile fighter in the Pacific.
The long glazed canopy of the Zero has a lot of framing, so it pays to work from the middle section toward the edges and press each piece down in the center before you smooth the ends. Before spraying we recommend running the interior covering color over the transition, so that any seepage does not show. Peeling off is easier if you lift the edge with the tip of a scalpel and pull the mask away at an angle rather than straight up from the surface.
The package holds only the masking set, not a model or paints.
