Corrected road wheels for the Israeli Achzarit heavy carrier in the late rendering, 1:35 scale, including a QW masking template.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Achzarit is among the most individual armored vehicles of the end of the Cold War. It came into being from the hulls of Soviet tanks that the Israeli army captured from the Arab states, and out of which, after the turret had been removed, there became a low, heavily armored carrier for infantry. The original power unit gave way to an American engine placed so that a narrow corridor for boarding from the rear came into being beside it. The late rendering is recognized by the rebuilt firing positions and the altered roof of the fighting compartment. The machine was intended from the start for fighting in built-up areas, where armor is valued more than speed.
The wheels are corrected in shape to the real subject and prepared for Meng kits in 1:35. According to the name there are twelve of them in the package, and they are supplemented by a QW masking template, with which the disk is easily separated from the tire during painting.
On this type the running gear is, thanks to the low hull, almost impossible to hide, and every crookedly fitted wheel shows. It therefore pays to glue progressively from the front mounting backward and to check as you go whether all the wheels sit down in one plane. Leave the tire until the very end, after the base color of the hull has been sprayed.
What suggests itself above all is a scene from an urban built-up area, where infantry is crowded between the houses, where the vehicle stands side-on to the camera, or a model with mine-clearing equipment fitted, on which a detailed chassis is reckoned with anyway.
