About product

M777A2, a towed howitzer (1:35, Spalah)

A resin, 3D-printed kit of a modern 155 mm towed gun in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian maker Spalah. The package holds roughly 71 resin parts, decals and two color schemes. It is a kit for advanced modelers; the finished model can be built in the firing or the towed travel position.

The real subject

The M777 is a light 155 mm towed howitzer whose weight was cut sharply compared with older guns thanks to the use of titanium and aluminum. The A2 version introduces a digital fire control system and remains a widespread weapon in modern armies; it can be brought into action quickly and moved even by helicopter.

Building and painting tips

Wash the print resin residue off the parts, cut away the print supports and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Sand with respiratory protection. Dry-fit the fine barrel and the carriage first and glue them only afterwards. Paint with an airbrush, and build up the patina with a wash and pigments, especially on the lower part of the carriage.

Who the model is for

  • Experienced modelers of modern equipment and artillery.
  • Collectors of present-day weapon systems in 1:35 scale.
  • Builders of dioramas with contemporary subjects.

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
