The AMX-13 was a French postwar light tank developed at the beginning of the 1950s. Its characteristic feature was the oscillating turret, in which the whole upper part tilted together with the gun, and an autoloader with a drum magazine. The /75 version carried a 75 mm gun. The tank was widely exported to a number of countries and was used, among others, by the Israeli army in the fighting in the Middle East. Its compact dimensions, low weight and quick-firing turret made it an agile machine suited to reconnaissance and support, if at the cost of thinner armor.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the individual tracks before finishing the hull. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue; set the flexible tarpaulin on the turret so that it drapes naturally. After the base coat and the clear coat under the decals, pick out the detail with a wash and add dust and mud with pigments; bold dust effects suit Middle Eastern machines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
