A resin detail set in 1:35 scale from the firm PANZER ART representing the reinforced mantlet (the cover of the gun cradle) of the main gun of the German Panther medium tank in the Ausf. A and Ausf. G versions. It is not a model of the tank but a detail accessory that replaces the original mantlet part and captures the cast surface more faithfully.
The Panther was among the most successful German medium tanks of the Second World War. On the later production versions the reinforced gun mantlet increased the thickness of the armor and reshaped the lower edge, so that a hit could not be deflected down into the roof of the hull.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up (with respiratory protection). They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray a primer on before painting; the rough cast surface of the mantlet stands out once pigments and a fine wash have been applied.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. A corresponding base kit of the Panther tank is needed to use it.
