The real subject

Self-propelled anti-tank missile systems came about as an answer to the growing armor of tanks. The carrier is an armored vehicle on which a launcher with guided missiles is mounted, so the crew can hit a target at a range that a gun cannot reach. The typical tactic is a short exposure: the vehicle comes into view, launches a missile and immediately changes position. The launcher usually folds down into the travel position, which on a model is one of the most conspicuous features.

Building and painting tips

The running gear and the lower hull deserve attention before the upper parts are closed, because later you will not reach them. Put the parts together dry first and only then glue them. Glue the launcher on at the very end, otherwise it gets in the way during painting and is easily broken off. Apply the paint in thin coats, because a uniform hull surface only looks convincing once the centers of the panels have been lightened and a dark wash has gone into the gaps. Lay the dust and the build-up from the wheels from the bottom up, away from the ground.
