The model is unassembled and unpainted; it is built with cement for plastic and painted with modeling paints. The Bedford QL was a British truck with four-wheel drive which was produced from the beginning of the 1940s. It arose as a cross-country vehicle of a payload of around three tons and became one of the most widespread British military trucks of its time. The chassis served as the basis for a large family of bodies: a flatbed, a workshop vehicle, a signals vehicle, a tractor and a tanker. The tanker standards saw to the supply of fuel, typically at airfields and in rear areas. A characteristic feature of the vehicle is the angular cab with a markedly sloped front part and high-set fenders.
With vehicles of this type it pays to proceed from the chassis. First finish the frame, the axles and the drive train, and only then glue the body on, because once it is seated you can no longer get at a number of places. Finish and paint the cab and its interior before you close it up with the glazing. On the plastic parts use thin cement for plastic with a capillary action; the joints then stay clean. Prime the whole model before painting, apply the decals onto a gloss base and finally even the surface out with a matte clear coat. A truck suits restrained weathering, that is dust shades on the lower areas and fine mud effects on the fenders and the tires.
