An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Scammell Pioneer R100 heavy artillery tractor in 1:35 scale from Thunder Model. The set is richly detailed, with photo-etched parts, chain, cable and decals. It offers a well-worked chassis with sprung suspension, a winch, a fully rendered engine and a cab with doors and windows that open.
The Scammell Pioneer R100 was a British heavy artillery tractor with 6x4 drive and a Gardner six-cylinder diesel. It was introduced in the second half of the 1930s and during the Second World War it towed heavy artillery pieces, for instance 7.2-inch and 8-inch howitzers. Its cross-country ability and its winch made it a mainstay of British artillery.
Assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the interior before closing up the body and the cab. Use thin cement for plastic and clean the flash away gently. A primer as a base, the main colors with an airbrush, and finish the surface with washes and pigments for the mud and dust effects of field service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
