An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet BT-5 fast tank in 1:35 scale from Zvezda. The kit offers a faithful rendering of the hull, the turret with its 45 mm gun and the characteristic running gear, plus waterslide decals for several options. It is supplied as plastic to be assembled and painted.
The BT-5 belonged to the family of Soviet fast tanks (Bystrokhodny tank) derived from the Christie design. It excelled in mobility and could run on tracks as well as on wheels. It was used among other places in the Spanish Civil War, in the fighting at Khalkhin Gol, in the Winter War and in the early stage of the Second World War. Its armament was a 45 mm gun.
Finish and paint the running gear and the lower hull before closing up. Glue with thin cement for plastic; a primer undercoat and an airbrush are advisable. The typical green shade is brought to life by filters, washes in the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear for a faithful combat look.
