An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet BT-7 fast tank in the model 1937 version in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Tamiya. It is a modern tooling with nicely executed detail: clear parts for the headlight lenses, photo-etched parts, figures of the commander and other crew and several marking options are usually included. The model thus captures well the characteristic large road wheels and the wedge-shaped nose of this fast tank.
The BT-7 belonged to the Soviet family of fast tanks (the abbreviation BT stands for Bystrokhodny tank, that is, fast tank), whose suspension was derived from the design of the American engineer Walter Christie. The machines stood out for their high speed and mobility. The BT-7 carried a 45 mm gun, and in the model 1937 version it was given a new conical turret with sloped walls - a solution that later appeared on the legendary T-34 as well. The sloped frontal armor of the hull improved its resistance.
First finish and paint the running gear, the large wheels and the lower hull, and only then close the hull up. Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement and attach the small photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Spray a primer and then the basic Soviet green (shade 4BO). A dark wash in the recesses and the engraved lines will draw the detail out, and dust pigments on the running gear and the fenders will complete the final impression.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
