Cacti Set No. 2: desert vegetation in 1:35

The second cactus set from RT-Diorama extends the range of desert vegetation with further shapes and sizes of plants. The cacti are made by 3D printing from resin, are supplied unassembled and unpainted, and according to the manufacturer a small snake is hidden in the package as well, which adds a touch of tension to a scene. It is precisely the vertical silhouette of a cactus that can help an otherwise flat desert diorama more than anything else.

Working with resin plants

Trim any marks left by the print supports with a sharp knife and wash the parts in warm water with detergent so that the paint holds well. Glue them with cyanoacrylate, choose a base green that is on the grayish side and bring out the edges of the ribs with a lighter tone; the spines will then stand out after a fine dark wash.
