Spare wheels carried on the hull are a rewarding detail. This set brings spare road wheels for the Centurion and Chieftain tanks in 1:35 scale from Pimp My Miniatures.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to the name this small set can be used on both British tanks. Crews carried spare road wheels lashed to the fenders or to the rear of the hull, and in the field they were changed after running onto a mine or after a rubber tire tore. On a model it is a simple way to break up a smooth silhouette and to give the machine the impression that it really runs.
The Centurion came into the world in the last weeks of the Second World War and became one of the most successful tanks ever. It fought in Korea, in the Middle East and in Southeast Asia, and in modernized forms it served even after the turn of the millennium. The Chieftain replaced it in British service at the end of the 1960s and brought a stronger gun and a far better sloped front armor. The two machines share a suspension with paired horizontal springs, thanks to which their road wheels resembled one another.
A spare should look more worn than the machine itself. Leave an older shade on it, a chipped flange and more rust on the disc. Suggest the mounting with thin wire or a strip of foil as a strap, because it is the fastening that the eye notices on a finished model sooner than the casting itself. Choose the position from period photographs of the particular unit.
The model of the tank and paints are obtained separately and are not in the package.
