A kit of a truck from the Canadian wartime design series in the version with an ambulance body, in 1:35 scale. The model combines the characteristic cab with a short nose and a box body, so it is recognizable at first glance. Look for the contents of the package, the number of parts and the markings offered in the manufacturer's instructions.
The C60L type belongs to the family of Canadian Military Pattern trucks, which were built in large series and differed mainly in the cab, the wheelbase and the body. The letter L marks the longer wheelbase, thanks to which the vehicle could carry bulkier bodies. The ambulance version served to move the wounded from near the front to field medical facilities, so the vehicle ran on dirt roads and its appearance matched hard service. For a modeler it is an interesting alternative to ordinary trucks, because a box body gives a scene a clear story.
Finish the frame, the axles and the cab as separate assemblies and paint them before you join them. It makes sense to paint the inside of the body before closing it, even though only part of it will be visible afterward. Liven a single-color finish up by shading the large areas and the transitions between panels. A box body tempts you into a sharp wash, but a more civilian result comes from gently bringing out the edges and the joints. Build the dust and mud from the bottom up, strongest on the tires, the fenders and the steps; leave the upper surfaces dusty rather than muddy.
