The ZSL-92 is a Chinese wheeled armored vehicle intended to carry and support infantry. It serves with the ground forces of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, where it forms a mobile element able to move quickly along surfaced roads. The form designated with the letter G belongs to the later versions of this series.
The plastic kit in 1:35 scale is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The parts are held on sprues; the builder cuts them off, cleans them up, glues them together and paints them according to the enclosed instructions. The 1:35 scale leaves room to work up the surface of the hull, the equipment and the running gear, and the finished model will also do well on a diorama with contemporary equipment.
With wheeled vehicles everything stands or falls on the running gear: fit the axles and the wheels on a flat surface so that the model sits down on all its wheels and does not stand crooked. Paint the tires separately from the rims and, if the part has a flat spot, turn it toward the ground. Fill and sand the seams on the hull, as every unevenness shows on large flat surfaces. Add to the base coat by picking out the shadows around the hatches and the vision blocks and by dusting the lower part of the hull and the wheels. Apply mud and dust sparingly and from the bottom upwards, so that the vehicle does not look artificial.
The set will please collectors of contemporary armored equipment in 1:35 scale and modelers who want equipment of Asian make in their collection. Take the paint call-outs and the marking options from the instructions. Paints, glue, filler and other materials are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
