A set of holographic film with elements for the observation and sighting instruments of the Taiwanese wheeled armored vehicles of the CM-33 and CM-34 lines and for the CM-37 MGS module, in 1:35 scale. The elements are set onto the places where the kit has a flat plastic imitation of glass molded in. The holographic layer changes shade with the angle of view, so once the elements are on, the optics come across as real glass with a glint. It is neither a mask set nor decals, but clear elements that stay on a finished model permanently.
The CM-33 and the CM-34 are Taiwanese eight-wheeled armored vehicles derived from a common platform. They differ above all in their turret and their main armament, with the variant intended to carry infantry and the variant with a gun turret built on the same basis. The designation CM-37 MGS then refers to a module with gun armament for fire support. What they have in common is what gives a modeler trouble, namely the large number of vision ports, periscopes and sights distributed over the hull and the turret, which on a model look like painted plastic if they are left untreated.
Put the film on as the last step of the build, that is after the painting, the varnish, the decals and the weathering. Degrease the surface beforehand and let it dry perfectly. Take the elements out with tweezers with smooth jaws, so that no prints stay on the surface. They are glued with a colorless glue for clear parts that does not cloud the surface as it dries. Do not use cyanoacrylate glue, because its fumes will fog the clear surface. The elements must not be painted or varnished over. If you flatten the model, leave the film aside and put it on only once the matte varnish has dried. Since the set covers more than one vehicle, compare the elements with the part they are to go on before gluing.
The film is supplied as an accessory for a model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
