About product

Metal tracks Comet 1:35 (Friulmodel)

A set of assemblable metal tracks cast in white metal from the manufacturer Friulmodel in 1:35 scale. The individual links are joined with wire pins into a workable track, which replaces the tracks from the box on the model of the British cruiser tank Comet. The weight of the metal gives a natural sag over the road wheels and a faithful running surface texture that a plastic or rubber track does not reach. It is not a model but a detail accessory for advanced modelers.

The real subject

The Comet (A34) was a British cruiser tank of the end of the Second World War, following on in development from the Cromwell type. It offered a more powerful gun and better armor and was among the highest-performing British tanks of its day. The tracked running gear with its characteristic road wheels is a typical feature of it.

Assembly tips

Clean the casting flash off the links with a needle file. For joining them you need pliers, a file and a pin vise for threading the pins through. Fit the track dry first and check its length and sag. Degrease the metal and pull a primer for metal over it, and only then paint.

Who the set is for

  • Advanced modelers who want workable metal tracks
  • Builders of British tracked vehicles in 1:35 scale
  • Anyone after a realistic sag and running surface texture
  • Collectors replacing the rubber tracks from the box

This is a metal detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.

FAQ

No. It is a set of metal track links. The model itself has to be bought separately.

The individual links are joined with wire pins into a workable track; pliers, a file and a pin vise are enough.

Metal creates a natural sag and a more faithful running surface texture than a rubber track.
