An accessory set of wheels by Copper State Models for a model of the French Model 1914 armored car in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle kit: the set serves to change the wheels on a finished model for a form that the manufacturer designates as Ducasble type tires.
French Model 1914 armored cars arose at the beginning of the First World War by adding an armored superstructure to production automobile chassis. It was quickly improvised equipment on which the details differed from vehicle to vehicle, and the wheels were among the most conspicuous of those differences. The vehicles ran on wheels of various profiles and makes, and the tread pattern and the lettering on the sidewall are elements on a model that one notices among the first.
Try the wheels dry first, so that both the track and the ride height of the vehicle are right. Never paint rubber in pure black: dark gray with a hint of brown reads more convincingly, followed by a gentle dry brush to bring out the pattern and dust pigments in the grooves. Bring out the lettering on the sidewall carefully with a dark wash. Paint the rim separately; if the parts are split, paint it before the tire is fitted and you will save yourself some masking.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
