An injection-molded plastic kit of the French Panhard EBR wheeled reconnaissance car (the EBR-10 version) in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The set contains photo-etched parts and rubber tires and captures the unusual design of the vehicle with its oscillating turret. It is the first mainstream injection-molded kit of this interesting type.
The Panhard EBR was a French armored reconnaissance car produced in the 1950s and 1960s. Its characteristic feature was the oscillating turret, in which the whole upper part with the gun tilts together with the barrel. The vehicle had an unusual wheel arrangement with a pair of retractable wheels with steel rims for driving across country. In the turret it carried a 75 mm gun. It served for long years with the French army as a fast reconnaissance asset.
Give attention to the oscillating turret and to the more complex running gear with its several axles. Glue and paint the rubber tires separately. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic, prime the whole thing and paint with an airbrush. The single-color French shade will be brought to life by a dark wash into the recesses, by picking out the edges with a dry brush and by dust effects with pigments on the wheels and the chassis. Seat the decals on a gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
