Metal track links for the Ferdinand and the VK 45.01(P)/VK 45.02(P)H are a set of workable metal track links in 1:35 scale from Friulmodel. It is not a model of a vehicle but an accurate replacement of the tracks for heavy vehicles of Porsche design.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of individual metal track links in white metal (a tin alloy) for models of the German Ferdinand tank destroyer and of the heavy vehicles of Porsche design VK 45.01(P) and VK 45.02(P)H in 1:35 scale. The links are joined with the supplied wire into a fully workable track, which replaces the plastic or rubber tracks from the base kit. Metal tracks give the model real weight, crisp definition and a natural sag.
The Ferdinand was a heavy tank destroyer of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Porsche design for a heavy tank. The VK 45.01(P) and the VK 45.02(P)H were related prototype projects of the Porsche company. The vehicles named share the type of running gear the set is intended for.
First clean the links of casting marks with a file, assemble them one behind another and connect them with the supplied wire, which forms the pins. A file, pliers for cutting the wire and a pin vise with a drill of the wire's diameter are all you need for the assembly. Treat the metal surface with a primer suitable for metal before painting, then apply the paints with an airbrush and bring the tracks out with a wash and pigments for the effect of mud and dust.
This is not a model of a vehicle but a metal accessory for an existing kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
