An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet truck GAZ-AAA in the three-axle 6x4 form, in 1:35 scale from Zvezda. The model captures the proven wartime truck with its dual rear axle.
The GAZ-AAA was a Soviet three-axle 6x4 truck derived from the two-axle GAZ-AA (a license-built Ford). The added rear driven axle improved its cross-country performance and its payload, so the vehicle carried soldiers, materiel and ammunition and became the basis for a range of derived vehicles and bodies. It was used in large numbers during the Second World War and before it, and thanks to its easy maintenance and its wide use it stayed in service for many years after the fighting ended.
On a truck it pays to assemble and paint the chassis, the drivetrain and the interior of the cab and the bed before the bodywork is closed up. Glue the plastic parts with a liquid modeling cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them. Apply a primer before painting and spray the green of Soviet vehicles with an airbrush in thin coats. Weathering comes from dark washes in the recesses and from pigments for mud and dust effects on the chassis, the wheels and the fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
