An injection-molded plastic kit of the German 2.8 cm sPzB 41 heavy anti-tank rifle in 1:35 scale from Dragon. The model captures the compact weapon on its light mount and also contains crew figures. Although it is a small weapon, the kit reproduces it with pleasing detail. Check the exact package contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The 2.8 cm schwere Panzerbüchse 41 was a German heavy anti-tank rifle with a tapered (squeeze) bore. The projectile with its soft metal skirt was squeezed down from 28 mm to 20 mm on firing, which gave it a high muzzle velocity and penetration. On the light mount 41 the weapon was also meant for airborne units. Because of the tungsten the projectiles consumed, however, it was built only in limited numbers.
Cut the small parts off carefully and glue them with a thin cement for plastic. Finish and paint the mount and the weapon before you set the assembly on a base. Glue and paint the crew figures separately, and finish the faces and the uniforms with a brush. After the airbrush coat, bring out the detail with a wash and add fine dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
