The German 280mm K5(E) Leopold railway gun 1:35 from Trumpeter is a sizable plastic kit of the heavy gun on a railway mounting.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter captures the German heavy railway gun of 280 mm caliber, the K5(E), known by the name Leopold. It is an extensive model on a railway mounting whose package also includes shells, cartridge cases and an ammunition trolley. The model is supplied as a set of parts to be assembled and painted.
The K5(E) was a German railway gun of 280 mm caliber with a long barrel and great range, used during the Second World War. Allied soldiers at Anzio knew it by the nickname Anzio Annie. The gun is the only surviving German railway gun of the Second World War and is on display in the United States. The weapon was moved exclusively by rail and needed a prepared position in order to fire.
Given the dimensions and the number of parts, building in subassemblies is recommended: the bogies, the mounting, the barrel and the superstructures. Glue the plastic with liquid modeling cement and let the large joints dry properly. An airbrush and a primer prove themselves; you can bring the German camouflage scheme to life with a wash in the engraved lines and light weathering. The model shows to advantage on a base with a section of track.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
