1:35 German ammunition cart If.8 captures the German infantry cart If.8, by which ammunition and gear were brought to units.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the Second World War infantry moved mostly on foot and everything it could not carry on its back rode on hand or horse-drawn carts. The If.8 was exactly such a helper: a two-wheeled cart meant for carrying crates of ammunition, tools and other material. Plusmodel has worked it up in 1:35 scale.
The cart could be pulled by hand by a pair of men, hitched behind a horse, or behind a light vehicle. Thanks to that it got even where a truck could not pass: into forest cuttings, onto soaked field tracks and into ruined streets. For dioramas it is rewarding precisely because by itself it tells of the hard work back behind the line.
Put the wheels and the axle together on a flat base, so that the result finally stands without rocking. Paint the load bed before you cover it with a load. The wooden parts will get depth when a thin brown glaze is drawn over a light base and left to run into the grain. The metal fittings are well suited to being lightly rubbed with graphite. Any load that you stand on the bed should be seated right at the very end, so that it does not get in the way during painting.
The cart is unassembled and waits to be painted as well. Glue, paints and further equipment are not to be found in the package, unless stated otherwise.
