Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from Tamiya that captures a German field kitchen of the Second World War together with its crew. It is not a combat vehicle but a diorama scenery set: the basis is a towed cart with a large cooking cauldron and a trailer with a coffee urn, and the two parts can be separated. The box holds four figures (cooks and soldiers at the serving line) and a generous range of accessories such as milk cans, containers, bread, cheese and fruit. Check the exact number of parts and decals on the packaging.
The field kitchen (Feldkuche) was part of the essential rear-area equipment of the Wehrmacht. The large type could feed roughly 125 to 225 men, and the same portion was served to every rank. The kitchen moved as a towed cart, was uncoupled on the spot and cooked in a large cauldron; the smaller trailer served to prepare drinks. Historically it was an important part of the support system, which affected the morale and the fighting ability of the units.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and add the small accessories with cyanoacrylate. It is best to spray a base primer first and then lay thin coats of paint on with an airbrush. The figures and the crockery come into their own with oil paints and a wash that brings out the detail. For a striking diorama, add weathering with pigments (dust, soot from the fire) and set the scene on a base with groundwork.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
