The Pz.Kpfw.38(t) was originally a Czechoslovak light tank (the LT vz. 38), which the Wehrmacht took over after the occupation of Czechoslovakia and used extensively in combat. The Ausf.E/F versions received bolted-on applique armor, which increased the frontal protection. The tank carried a gun of 37 mm caliber and was reliable and mobile. It was deployed in the opening campaigns of the Second World War, including the attack on the Soviet Union; its chassis later became the basis of tank destroyers and self-propelled guns.
Assemble and paint the running gear with its large road wheels and the interior elements before you close up the hull. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. German vehicles of the early war carried gray camouflage (Panzergrau); after the base coat, emphasize the rivets and the panel lines with a wash and add dust and mud effects with pigments on the running gear.
