An injection-molded plastic kit of the German observation post tank Panzerbeobachtungswagen Panther (Pz.BeobWg V) in 1:35 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and represents the observation variant derived from the Panther medium tank, adapted for the needs of artillery observers.
The Panzerbeobachtungswagen Panther came about by converting a Panther hull into a mobile observation post for directing artillery fire. The vehicle carried no standard gun — in its place it had a dummy barrel, and in the turret armor optical observation instruments and a rangefinder — and it was armed only with machine guns for its own defense. The heavily armored Panther hull gave the observers markedly better protection on the front line than the earlier lighter vehicles did.
Finish the running gear and the lower hull before you close the hull up. Assemble and paint the tracks and the road wheels separately. For late German armor a camouflage based on dark yellow with brown and green patches works well; closing washes and pigments add realistic mud and dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
