Weighted 1:35 resin wheels with the Michelin XL tread for the TPz 1 Fuchs armored personnel carrier in the chemical reconnaissance version from DEF Model. An accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin wheels in 1:35 scale from DEF Model, intended for a model of the six-wheeled TPz 1 Fuchs armored personnel carrier in the chemical and radiological reconnaissance version. The wheels are cast weighted, that is with a flattened tire footprint, the way a vehicle looks standing under its own weight. The set designation points to the first variant with the Michelin XL tread; the manufacturer also offers a variant with a different tire type, so choose the one you want for your model before you buy. This is not a kit of the vehicle but a set of replacement parts.
The TPz 1 Fuchs is a German wheeled armored personnel carrier with 6x6 all-wheel drive, amphibious, with a roomy rear compartment. The reconnaissance version designated by the abbreviation for protection against weapons of mass destruction is equipped with measuring and sampling gear and serves to find and assess contamination. Thanks to its high chassis and large wheels the vehicle is visually striking, so the detail of the tires really does show on a model.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water before building because of the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and level the surface with abrasive paper, protecting your airways. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; plastic cement has no effect on it. Apply a primer before painting. Tires look better in a dark gray shade than in pure black, and dusting is best done with pigments or a thin wash. Check the fit of the hubs against the parts of your own kit beforehand.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
