An injection-molded plastic kit of the German light tank destroyer Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer in 1:35 scale from Academy. The model captures the compact, low vehicle with sloped armor, which is among the favorite subjects of late-war German equipment. Check the particular contents of the package and the production version against the manufacturer's data for the given box.
The Jagdpanzer 38(t), nicknamed the Hetzer, was a German light tank destroyer of the end of the Second World War built on the modified chassis of the Czechoslovak Panzer 38(t) tank. Thanks to its low silhouette, well-sloped armor and decent mobility it was a difficult target and an effective weapon from cover. It was armed with a 7.5 cm anti-tank gun in a fixed superstructure and was produced in large numbers at the close of the war.
Assemble and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before you close the hull, as on the low Hetzer the lower areas are hard to reach once it is finished. Spray the whole model with a base color (primer). Late-war vehicles were often painted in multicolored camouflage schemes, which come out well once accented with dark washes into the edges and the pressings and completed with pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
