Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli Shot Kal tank in its 1973 state, in 1:35 scale from the maker AFV Club. The model grows out of the British Centurion in its Israeli form. The set contains a photo-etched fret, a turned metal barrel, clear periscopes and working suspension for the running gear. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
The Shot Kal is the Israeli modernization of the British Centurion tank. Israel fitted the vehicles with an American diesel engine and the British 105 mm L7 gun. The change raised both the mobility and the firepower of the original Centurion and made it one of the pillars of the Israeli armored forces. In their 1973 version, the Shot Kal tanks fought in the Yom Kippur War, above all in the defensive battles on the Golan Heights. A small number of these tanks held off markedly larger forces there for several days, which became one of the legendary episodes of Israeli armored history and a proof of the toughness and the accurate gunnery of these machines.
Finish and paint the running gear with its working suspension before closing the hull. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue, and clean the turned barrel up. Apply the Israeli sand scheme with an airbrush. Bring the details out with washes in the seams, and add dust pigments on the running gear and the lower surfaces at the end, for desert and mountain weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
