This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Pit-Road captures the massive Japanese siege howitzer of 28 cm caliber in 1:35 scale. The package holds four figures of the gun crew, which give the massive gun a sense of scale and suit a diorama. Take the exact contents and the number of parts from the instructions in the box.
This 28 cm howitzer was among the first large Japanese guns of domestic design and became famous above all at the siege of Port Arthur in the Russo-Japanese War in 1904 and 1905, where it caused heavy losses. The weapon was mounted on a massive circular platform and its heavy shells could destroy even fortified targets. It stayed in service for decades.
Assemble the massive platform and the barrel carefully so that the gun stands straight. Bond the joins with thin modeling cement for plastic and prime the surface. Bring out the metal parts of the barrel with a dark metallic shade, and set the wooden and steel elements of the platform apart with shades and weathering. Paint the figures separately and fit them only once the gun is finished.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
