The Type 16 is a Japanese wheeled combat vehicle taken into service with the Ground Self-Defense Force. Compared with a tracked tank it relies on rapid movement by road, and the wheels are therefore among the first things anyone notices on a model. In kits the wheels tend to be simplified of necessity, the tread is shallow and the lettering on the sidewalls of the tires is missing.
Replacement wheels for a model of the Type 16 in 1:35 scale. The name states that they are shaped for the Tamiya kit, so they will seat on its axles with no great adjustment. How many pieces the package contains and how they are fitted are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on resin and metal ordinary solvent cement does not hold. Use super glue and apply it drop by drop with a needle. Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder until the surface is level with the outline. Before painting, wash the wheels in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry, because paint cracks on a greasy surface. The hubs are easier to paint separately from the tires: spray the whole wheel first, then mask the hub with a disc of masking tape and finish the rubber. Fit the finished wheels only at the end, so that no paint or sanding dust gets into the tread.
The vehicle kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
