The Type 74 was the main battle tank of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), which formed its backbone from roughly the nineteen seventies to the nineteen nineties. Characteristic was the hydropneumatic suspension, which allowed the hull to be tilted and the ground clearance adapted to the terrain. The vehicle carried a 105 mm gun and followed the Western main battle tanks of the day in its concept.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the flexible tracks, and only then finish the hull and the turret. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. The winter scheme calls for a white oversprayed coat, to which scuffing and wear revealing the base color can be added once it is on. After the clear coat, bring out the details with a wash and add dust and mud, or snow, weathering with pigments. Work the crew figures through separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
