A ball mount for the hull machine gun for a model of the Panther Ausf. G of late production, in the large-mouth rendering. Two pieces in the package, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Panther Ausf. G was the most widespread variant of the German Panther medium tank and it was produced until the end of the war. On it the machine gun in the frontal hull armor sat in a ball mount, that is in a spherical housing that allowed the weapon to be aimed in traverse and in elevation. The mount changed during production and the individual renderings differ in the size of the opening and in the shape of the surrounding casting, so it is a detail by which the production period of a machine can be told apart.
A replacement ball mount for a model of the Panther Ausf. G of late production in the rendering with the large opening, in 1:35 scale. According to the name there are two pieces in the package. The part is fitted in place of the component from the kit and suits anywhere the model is meant to match a later production batch or where the kit offers only a simplified shape.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder back, so that the spherical surface stays symmetrical. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Try the fit dry and make sure the mount sits on the axis of the opening in the armor; a part set out of true is conspicuous on a finished model. The suitable glue follows from the material stated by the manufacturer.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
