A plastic kit of the German heavy truck L-4500S in the form with the standardized, unified cab (Einheitskabine / Einheitsfahrerhaus) from the manufacturer Zvezda in 1:35 scale. The kit captures the S version with rear-wheel drive. It is an injection-molded plastic model with a decal sheet; the exact package contents and the number of parts are governed by the enclosed instructions.
The heavy truck L-4500 (Mercedes-Benz) was an important logistical mainstay of the German army during the Second World War. It was built at the works in Gaggenau from 1939 and in the later phase of the war at the Saurer company as well. It existed in two main versions - the L-4500A with all-wheel drive and the L-4500S with rear-wheel drive. The Einheitskabine form used a standardized cab; from 1943 onward the metal cab was being replaced by a wooden one in order to save material. The vehicle carried supplies, hardware and troops on all fronts.
Paint the chassis, the engine and the visible parts of the interior before completing the cargo bed and the cab. Use thin liquid cement on the plastic. Apply a primer before painting and lay the color down with an airbrush. A truck suits a matter-of-fact patina - dust and mud with pigments on the chassis and the wheels, fine washes into the seams of the bed and light rubbing of the paint on the edges. The load area can be brought to life with a load and accessories.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
