The model brings a heavy truck and a gun together in one kit; according to the manufacturer it has a complete drivetrain with engine and suspension, hollow rubber tires and photo-etched parts.
The subject is the German heavy Mercedes-Benz L4500A truck with all-wheel drive, on whose cargo bed the 5 cm Flak 41 anti-aircraft gun was mounted. This 50 mm caliber weapon was intended to defend against low-flying aircraft; the folding sides of the bed were lowered in the firing position so that the crew had a clear traverse. The combination of a mobile truck and a quick-firing gun gave the German army a mobile air defense that could accompany convoys and protect them from the Allied air forces, which controlled the sky at the end of the war.
First finish the chassis, the drivetrain and the cab, and only then build the bed and the gun itself; leave the area with the gun accessible as long as possible. Think the folding sides through according to whether you want the vehicle in the traveling or the firing position. Fit the hollow tires after painting and bend the photo-etched parts over a metal ruler. Spray a primer before painting. For late-war German vehicles a three-color camouflage (Dunkelgelb, green, brown) works well; create the weathering with washes, a dry brush on the edges and pigments for dust and mud.
